A crime scene - or an assumed crime scene - can be a rich source of information if properly processed.  If improperly processed it can lead to the inadvertent destruction or loss of evidence, allowing investigators to reach incorrect conclusions and  could ultimately result in the innocent being deemed guilty.

At Forensic Engineering Solutions we aim to ensure that proper protocols are followed in the examination of any scene, and we can advise if the conclusions reached by the prosecution are absolute or uncertain.

How can we help:

Any individual piece of evidence can be a crossroads: the road that is ultimately followed can have profound implications for many people.  In relation to a Defendant, it is imperative that the conclusions reached are absolute and not uncertain.  If any degree of uncertainty exists then the doubt of guilt may prevail.

At Forensic Engineering Solutions we can assess the manner of the recovery of evidence from a scene; we can advise on the nature of evidence analysis and the propriety of evaluation thereafter; we can advise as to whether or not laboratory analysis has been complete or possibly inappropriate.  In short, we can assess the certainty of the evaluation of any evidence harvested from a scene.

As the role of the SOCO (scenes of crime officer - or Crime Scene Investigator) becomes more professional, it is increasingly important - and indeed necessary - that their endeavours are properly scrutinised.  Forensic Engineering Solutions brings this aspect to your door.  And usually we can evaluate the integriy of the prosecution case from the papers briefed

Why choose us:

Thomas Watson Snr, of IBM, said that it is better to shoot at perfection and miss, than to shoot at imperfection and hit.  It is a fact that many investigations undertaken may tend more towards imperfection than perfection, and where that is the case Forensic Engineering Solutions will expose the errors.  While perfection may never be achieved, to at least attempt to get there will ensure a better quality investigation; this is the aim of Forensic Engineering Solutions.

It is a Defendant's right to challenge or question every aspect of the evidence against him or her, and the evidence harvested at a scene is no different.  There have been many episodes of poor evidence recovery in the past, and opinions based on poor recovery will lead to poor conclusions.  We aim to highlight such situations.
